Ten years of UX work, and nothing to show.

For over a decade I’ve worked on interaction design, user research and design systems: the Siemens Industrial Copilot, work for ZEISS and STIHL, and a long tail of startups who needed a designer before they needed a design team.

Almost none of it is public. The projects I’m proudest of live in finished Figma files and closed Slack threads, behind NDAs that outlast the contracts. Every time someone asked to see my work, I described it instead of showing it.

The honest reason it stayed that way isn’t the NDAs though. Writing a case study is its own project: hours to pull the story out of your own memory, and a peculiar discomfort in writing about yourself that never shows up when you’re designing for someone else. So it kept moving to next week. For years.

Not another template. Not a blank page with tips beside it. Something that takes what already exists (a CV, a portfolio PDF, a testimonial someone emailed you, notes you typed once) and gives back the piece you would have written if you’d ever had the afternoon.

With one rule I wasn’t willing to trade away: it never invents a number or a quote. If your project has no metrics, your case study stays honestly qualitative. A fabricated “47% increase” is worse than no case study at all: it’s the one thing that can cost you the job you were trying to get.

That rule is also self-interest. My name is on this, and I’m publishing my own work through it.
